Catching up with friends is a time honored tradition.

Nothing like a good schmooze with a girlfriend, talking about things that you husband is completely bored with except the discussion surrounding world peace.

Exercising, eating, exploring museums, are a few of my favorite things to do with girlfriends.

Right before I took off for Europe I met up with my friend, Sara. She is the creative force behind her awesome jewelry company, One OAK by Sara.

One Oak by Sara

Coveted for its bohemian luxe aesthetic, her jewelry is unique, original and very reasonably priced. Sara’s signature look combines mixed metals and natural stones and has attracted many celebrities.

For each piece sold, One OAK by Sara plants one tree through American Forests. Sara is the nicest person and is always looking to pass things forward.

Definitely check out her designs at oneoakbysara.com.

Kat & Theo

Kat & Theo

We met up at Kat & Theo & a new, trendy flatiron restaurant, featuring seasonal American fare.

Cauliflower

Cauliflower

The restaurant is very attractive. We shared everything, initially indulging in a wonderful cauliflower dish with fig and pine nuts ($9).

Quinoa

Quinoa

The quinoa with pickled veggies, labneh (similar to Greek yogurt) and lemon dill dressing was delectable ($14).

Cod

Cod

The cod with crispy rice was delicious ($22).

Sara and I discussed our children, life’s challenges and her fabulous new designs.

Yesterday, my dear friend Paula and I met up.

I was early for lunch and committed a sin at the holy retail therapy shrine, Barneys.

Amali

Amali

Deplete of lunch money, I still met Paula at Amali, a highly touted restaurant on East 60th Street.

Lamb Burger

Lamb Burger

I ordered the tantalizing house specialty, the spiced lamb burger. It was dressed with tzatziki, red onion, arugula on a sesame brioche ($18).

Paula loved her roast pork sandwich on crunchy french bread ($16).
Chocolate Chip Cookies (look bigger in photo)

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Paula was in the mood for dessert and we ordered the warm chocolate chip cookies. Two tiny cookies were presented on a large white plate. Similar to objects in a rear view mirror are closer than they appear, the cookies in the above photo look larger then they were in reality.

For $6 we thought maybe the dish was a parting gift. They were warm and delicious, but overpriced.

We talked practically uninterrupted for hours as we always do, but service was nonexistent…perhaps our lack of libation was off putting.

Summation from my numerous Ladies Who Do Lunch sessions…a woman should definitely be President.

We solved world peace, the terrorism issue, best ways to parent, how to sustain female run businesses and did it all while looking good, multi-tasking and made the world a better place before the dishes were cleared from the table.

Next get together we will tackle global warming and finding the NY Giants a new general manager because Jerry Reese just isn’t cutting it in the draft or with trades (exception, Odell Beckman, Jr.).

Additionally, I must admit I am beginning to agree with my mother who, over many a lunch, has lambasted Eli Manning for years, labeling him a ‘shit heel’.

Eli, stand up straight, stop shrugging your shoulders, mouth breathing, wipe that stupid look off your face, throw a fucking spiral, stop the interceptions and get us in the playoffs.

Duly noted that you do have the worst offensive line in the NFL and one of the dumbest wide receivers who plays on the opposite side to Beckham, but still, this season you will earn $37 million, get it together, please!

Geez, we have a lot on our plate. No doubt, we will rise to the occasion.
